How Edition 01 works
One activity.
One challenge. Your way.
BitcoinRun is not a race. The challenge is deliberately simple: complete one 5 km activity, submit reasonable evidence, and put your name behind it.

Join
Registration is free. Join independently or through a company or community team.

Invite
After confirmation, invite someone to move with you. It is encouraged, not required.

Move 5 km
Complete one activity of at least 5 km between 9 September and 31 December. Run, jog or walk.

Submit
Submit reasonable activity evidence and confirm the activity is your own.

Be recognised
When your completion is accepted, you become a Founding Finisher.

Your place in Edition 01.
After your completion is accepted, you receive Founding Finisher recognition, a unique finisher number and digital certificate.

Get your people moving.
Companies and communities that create a team and mobilise their people are recognised as part of the Founding Edition.

Later participants can join future BitcoinRuns, but they cannot go back and help start the Founding Edition.

Edition 01 rules are published on the Rules page. Product pricing and shipping will be shown before any order is accepted.
Do I need to own Bitcoin?
No. Bitcoin is the cultural inspiration, not a participation requirement. BitcoinRun is for adopters, believers, people who feel part of the Bitcoin family — and anyone curious enough to move with them.
Is participation free?
Yes. You do not need to buy anything to become a Founding Finisher or earn the digital achievement.
Do I have to invite someone?
No. Your own 5 km is the challenge. BitcoinRun encourages every participant to invite someone else because getting others moving is part of the mission.
How is completion reviewed?
You submit reasonable activity evidence and attest that it is your own. A person reviews it for reasonable signs of completion. BitcoinRun does not claim that remote digital evidence is impossible to falsify.
What about the physical collectibles?
They are optional and still in development. Final specification, availability and pricing will be announced only when confirmed. The physical object never replaces the earned achievement.
